I am very pleased to announce that I have been awarded a Fellowship of the British Horological Institute. This is an extremely prestigious qualification and I now join the ranks of some very illustrious names in my trade who have also carried the post nominal FBHI. I’m very grateful to the BHI for the recognition.

Dingwall Beloe Harrison Lecture 2020
This annual event was founded with funds bequeathed to the British Museum by Dr Eric Dingwall, formerly an Assistant Keeper of Printed Books in the British Library, and to the Clockmakers’ Company by Mr Reginald Beloe, the noted horological collector and Master of the Clockmakers’ Company in 1977. It is intended that these annual lectures should make new contributions to our understanding of the history of horology, at an international level.

This is an old VHS recording found collecting dust which I found of great interest.
Dan Parkes is a famous character in the clockmaking world and it is wonderful to see and hear him in this film.

Clockwatch.de Technical and Historical Website.
A fantastic website that has been available online for some years. It boasts animations of many escapements, strike systems and other complications as well as other historical and theoretical information. If you are not familiar with this site I would strongly advise that you spend a while exploring it.

Escapement Animations - YouTube Playlist.
I came across a fantastic YouTube channel Ken Kuo. He has built fantastic CAD rendered working models of many interesting escapements. Some of these escapements are pretty rare and very interesting. Have a browse and learn about some cool escapements.

I’m delighted to announce that I am now a trade member of the Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers. This is a fantastic new initiative to help promote and encourage independent British horology.

Zoom talk for South London BHI
I will be giving a presentation on some of my work including the maintenance work carried out on the magnificent double pendulum regulators by both Buchanan’s and David Walter, as well as a making my replica of a Joseph Knibb roman striking long case. I will also be walking through my workshop and talking about some of the tools and machines that I use in my work.
