Making a Fusee Stopwork Snail

This is the final part of the short series covering the repair to the skeleton clock fusee. In this video, I complete the repair by making a new stop-work snail. The clock now runs very well as the increased diameter given to the end of the top end fusee means that the clock now has sufficient torque to run for its full duration. A previous repairer had disabled the top two turns of the fusee as they were problematic being such a small diameter. I have now been able to reverse that so the clock can once again run for its full 30-day duration.

I am hoping to write a small piece on this very interesting maker, so please subscribe to the blog to keep an eye out for that article.

I do hope you are continuing to enjoy the content, as always, please like, subscribe and share.

All the very best, Tommy
